On the moments of the time to ruin in dependent Sparre Andersen models with emphasis on Coxian interclaim times

The structural properties of the moments of the time to ruin are studied in dependent Sparre Andersen models. The moments of the time to ruin may be viewed as generalized versions of the Gerber–Shiu function. It is shown that structural properties of the Gerber–Shiu function hold also for the moments of the time to ruin. In particular, the moments continue to satisfy defective renewal equations. These properties are discussed in detail in the model of Willmot and Woo (2012), which has Coxian interclaim times and arbitrary time-dependent claim sizes. Structural quantities needed to determine the moments of the time to ruin are specified under this model. Numerical examples illustrating the methodology are presented.     

Stability of Viscoelastic Wave Equation with Structural $\delta$-Evolution in $\mathbb{R}^{n}$

The aim of this paper is to study the Cauchy problem for the viscoelastic wave equation for structural $\delta$-evolution models. By using the energy method in the Fourier spaces, we obtain the decay estimates of the solution to considered problem.     

Certain fractional calculus and integral transform results of incomplete ℵ-functions with applications

In this paper, we study certain interesting and useful properties of incomplete $\aleph$-functions. The incomplete $\aleph$-function is an extension of the $\aleph$-function. We find several useful classical integral transforms of these functions. Further, we examine the fractional calculus with the incomplete $\aleph$-functions and point out several special cases. Finally, we give the applications of incomplete $\aleph$-functions in detecting glucose supply in human blood.     

Mono-components from Blaschke products as solutions of a wave equation

In this note, we prove that the uni-modular mono-components from Blaschke products in the unit disc are eigenvectors of the Sturm-Liouville operators and investigate a kind of wave equations with some initial conditions, which give rise to mono-components.     

Sub‐ and Supramolecular X‐Ray Characterization of Engineered Tissues from Equine Tendon,Bovine Dermis,and Fish Skin Type‐I Collagen

Collagen represents one of the most widely used biomaterial for scaffolds fabrication in tissue engineering as it represents the mechanical support of natural tissues. It also provides physical scaffolding for cells and it influences their attachment, growth, and tissue regeneration. Among all fibrillary collagens, type I is considered one of the gold standard for scaffolds fabrication, thanks to its high biocompatibility, biodegradability, and hemostatic properties. It can be extracted by chemical and enzymatic protocols from several collagen‐rich tissues, such as tendon and skin, of different animal species. Both the extraction processes and the manufacturing protocols for scaffolds fabrication provide structural and mechanical changes that can be tuned in order to deeply impact the properties of the final biomaterial. The aim of this review is to discuss the role of X‐rays to study structural changes of type I collagen from fresh collagen‐rich tissues (bovine, equine, fish) to the final scaffolds, with the aim to screen across available collagen sources and scaffolds fabrication protocols to be used in tissue regeneration.     

A Phase Space Transform Adapted to the Wave Equation

Wave packets emerged in recent years as a very useful tool in the study of nonlinear wave equations. In this article we introduce a phase space transform adapted to the geometry of wave packets, and use it to characterize and study the associated classes of pseudodifferential and Fourier integral operators.
